Sturgiss to use finals defeat to inspire Olympic dream

Cody Sturgiss will aim to use his national championships heartbreak to fuel his desire to improve and aim towards his Olympic Games dream.

Boxing in his second professional tournament, the Charnwood teenage was one of four representatives from the ACT and was set with the tough challenge of facing fighters two years older than him.

The 15-year-old ended up losing his semi final one set to two and bringing his national championship journey to an end.

Despite not winning, Sturgiss is more than happy with his efforts on the Gold Coast and plans on using this as a motivator in his journey for the Olympics.
