Injury robbed Rhys Healy of a chance to play in a Manuka Oval curtain-raiser, but the Ginninderra all-rounder is confident skipping the match will open other doors.

Healy split the webbing between his two fingers after dropping a catch at training on Wednesday night, forcing him to withdraw from an ACT invitational side.

The ACT XI played before the Prime Minister's XI fixture on Thursday night, with Healy having to watch from the boundary.

He will also miss Ginninderra's clash against North Canberra-Gungahlin on Saturday, but says it will be all be worth it when he makes his ACT Comets debut on Monday.

"It's a pretty big privilege to be able to represent the ACT-NSW region," Healy said.
