Aussie hopeful Gilroy ready for sevens home leg

University of Canberra sevens star Brooke Gilroy is hoping the national series can boost her chances of playing for Australia as she aims for a breakthrough triumph on home turf.

It's been a crazy year for Gilroy after making her debut for the ACT Brumbies women's in February in just her third year of playing rugby union.

Gilroy has already set her sights high, hoping the national series competition can help push her skills and get her towards that Australian berth.

"I really want to make an Australian side soon," Gilroy said.

"I want this competition to help improve my skills and experience, so when I do get that call up

I'm prepared.
